Very lucky indeed! And photo evidence at last! =O: =O: =O:

Just kidding, badgers are almost impossible to catch...ssj too! \O

Cheetah mostly eat as quickly as possible, especially in a high-density predator area like Satara! Seems to be a young group of males?

Vultures have been known to chase cheetah singletons or couples off a kill, but I think in this case the group left before other predators arrived. Theoretically, lions watch the vultures, for example...

You have a spelling mistake, Brat! ^0^

We weren't sure if it was a mother with 4 teenage cubs or young males. -O- The Brat's spelling mistake was intentional, as in "Whattttttt??"! =O:

We approached Kumana Dam and could see quite a traffic jam. We stopped behind the last car in the queue, and saw 6 lions on a kill!! O/\ O/\ We didn't have a very good view because of the long grass but the car in front of us moved and we shuffled a bit forward only to find ourselves behind Amoli and EfJay!! 0/* The view still wasn't great and at first we thought it was a buffalo but later on realised it was a waterbuck which they had apparently killed in the morning. You can just see one of the horns in the bottom left of this pic.

There were 5 females and a young male, who disappeared shortly after we arrived. After sitting a while we decided to try and improve our position, and pulled up next to Amoli, had a quick chat and carried on further down the road. We turned around and found a gap where we could now see the kill more clearly.

Image

A large truck then came past and scared another three lionesses away, leaving only two at the kill. One of the lionesses started dragging the carcass toward the shade and the other one decided she wanted to play!! =O:

It doesn't come across in the pics but she was so playful - jumping all over the carcass and rolling around. ;-) Another lioness reappeared and the playful one surprised us all by jumping into the tree behind the carcass! =O:

She watched the two below and then pounced!! =O: =O:

This was such a fantastic sighting which kept us entertained for ages. ^Q^ We filmed the whole thing BUT when we got home and downloaded everything, something went wrong and we lost all the footage of the lioness in the tree!! 0*\ 0*\ O/ O/ :-( :-( But I will post what I have. :-(
