I spoke to a friend , and it appears that these dragonflies could be : #1 - Broad Scarlet dragonfly-- Crocothemis erythraea , and
#2 - Little Scarlet D/fly -- Crocothemis sanguinolenta .

Your second butterfly is Acraea anemosa (common names: Broad-bordered acraea or Christmas-tree acraea )

It is not in AW's bfly book yet...hint, hint

My first impression is that it is a shield bug or stink bug of some type (Order Hemiptera, Heteroptera - true bugs).
