Re: Braaiing and Recipes

Thanks chaps.
Haven't really thought of naming the braai.
Will have to give it some consideration.

Mean time.
First braai was on Friday night.

You can just see the cork near the flames on the right.
I then proceeded to demolish the entire bottle on my own.

The braai itself was a semi-success.
Found that the heat dissipated very quickly.
I think that the heat spread sideways. I will prob need some loose bricks just to place around the sides of the fire.
Any expert opinions?

Well done, Dzombs!

And on the braai too! ;-)

Yes, loose bricks are the way to go, or you could even make the fire on one side? \O

How was the smoke inhalation?

Yes, I think I will make it nearer the side next time.
Smoke was fine. Went straight up

Hmmm....still needs a " hoedjie " on top for when it rains
Btw, I did think of that. But firstly some sort of shelter will prob just trap the smoke
And secondly. I killed the budget as it is.

Thanks Fluts

Has anyone used fire lighting gel / liquid as apposed to the usual fire starters?
Is it any good?
