A yellow mongoose comes to drink into the saucer that I placed for birds and animals.
A Familiar Chat is watching us and sings very loud and seeks to enter the kitchen.
Besides, I don't remember which, the Familiar Chat or Agrobate who got stuck overnight in the kitchen, on the big beam. It woke me up in the morning ... to open the door 0-

I would like taking part in a "sunset drive" to observe the animals we can see during the day but as always "right place, right time" nothing is promised at the time to board the truck. We will decide later what night we might book for this game drive. All those nights the clouds are gathering all around, but in the Kalahari it is very difficult to predict the weather ... for practicing, quite a few years.
We have time to decide until tonight and then there are only 2 nights :-(
We leave for the Auob River is really my favorite road, a small hook to Jacques at KK, I forgot boxes that lent me one of my friends in Upington. I'm sure Jacques would have returned to me, we agreed to an appointment with his family at Twee Rivieren ... but it's nice to see and review KK cabins \O

We decide to continue north until Kamqua.
All quiet ...
On the way back, right on the edge of the road, I do not believe my eyes O-/

a male Cape Eland is lying, alone.
I know that there were some herds in August but they didn't stay long. They need plenty of water and these days the park is not too well supplied with water Waterholes are, either closed, or missing 0=

We return early. At the reception, we were told that the drive will take place despite the clouds flowering all around.
Start at 17 h., Must be at the rendez-vous early to choose a good place in the truck. There are 12 places, 8 are in the edges and the last 4 in the middle. To take pictures, the central squares are zero ...
We fill the usual formulas when a little known cree challenges us :-?

Could be an African Pygmy Owl around.........

Departure for the sunset drive, as the name suggests, we start with daylight, with the sunset and we come back about 3 hours later in the night.
It's complicated for photos,we need a good camera, coupled with a bright lens, the 12 participants move in turns and it is impossible to use tripods or even our bean bag. The flashes do not have enough range so we must do with the light of the torches.
It is forbidden to aim the stream of light into the eyes of animals, the nocturnals are especially sensitive to light, and direct the lights on prey, it's not us to do the work for the predators O**
During the day, I found 2 Owls, a Verreaux's Eagle-Owl and a Spotted Eagle-Owl O:V
Each has to say "stop" when he thinks he saw something interesting. The two superior rows have only laugh and drink and they were looking only at Lions. Bad luck for them, we don't find.
The holders of the lamps were not really smart, they only follow the truck, rather than scanning the entire side of the road, including trees 0*\
