Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and therefore our last drive had surfaced all too quickly for our liking. But we were more than happy with everything that the Kgalagadi had offered us over the last 2 weeks. Accordingly, our expectations for our drive out were modest.
Our first sighting came up just north of Rooibrak waterhole with the waterhole itself already being in view... You might remember this, uhm, not so good shot of a snake-eagle

I was busy trying to take photos, working the settings and all the rest of it, when the SO informed me that there was a car parked at Rooibrak waterhole, but since he couldn't see any movement I shouldn't rush with the raptor... Well, the next second it sounded totally different: "Leopard!"
Of course the bird was forgotten and we "raced" down the waterhole. But the leopard was already on her way out. Back then I had already thought that she had not looked really healthy, not knowing that she would be dead only 9 days later. Once again we had found Barolong and luckily we stayed with her until she had been gone up the ridge and into the dunes.
Since we didn't know that Barolong would die soon after our encounter, we were of course totally happy to have had yet another leopards sighting. And even on our last drive out!
