Thats correct.
The footprint of the brown hyaena differ slightly in size from the spotted hyaena in that it's smaller, but that will be difficult to tell without a comparison. The main pad of the spotted hyaena is broader than the brown hyaena.
Both hyaenas footprints will show a large print followed by the smaller one from the hind foot and this help to distinguish it from cheetah. Another difference from the cheetah is that the cheetah's toes are more evenly spaced and follows a narrower track than the hyaena.
How do you know its a brown hyaena? White paste secretions can be found on the grass stalks where the brown hyaena walked, which is a giveaway that its not a spotty.
