Yep I am aware the Lions come from there
They are always just such magnificent strong looking beasts - compared to their Kruger cousins!

We were entertained by this Ellie roadblock they just passed us as if we were not there.

Some mischief makers were out and about - This one scanning the area



This one was full of beans and jumping around, doing the highjump



This one seems rather big still to be wanting a drink from Mom



This big boy had a nice set of tusks for an Addo Ellie



Peacefully grazing, not a care in the world



"Snuggle bugs" - They were so content, just snoozing the day way!

This Buffalo seemed to enjoy the green grass



Junior was feeding a short distance away too



Miss inquisitive asked for a photo too - This one looked extra cuddly with soft fur



Coming round a bend in the road we were greeted by some Ellies again!!



“Move Mom they are too close for comfort” - nudging the Mom on the leg



Flapping those BIG ears, as if to say I am bigger than you!



Then this one also came to show off his tiny new tusks to us



These were enjoyed finding nutrients and enough dung around to make a ball



Then the ball started to roll!



They are so hardworking Must be a female, with the back one giving orders

At Rooidam there were 4 cars parked, we scanned the area and in the distance on the far side we saw what they were all looking at.
It was great to see another Lion today even if it was so far.



We had this little fella (Brownhooded Kingfisher) visit us every day, would come late afternoon and would sit on the same branch for at least an hour before making his way to its home for the night.
It was a real treat having him there everyday!

The dung beetles are hard working small creatures, but pushing the ball with the hind legs, they never see where they are going

Interesting, only one animal in the whole series can fly, even if the monkey is trying to!

So many sightings in one day!! Those lions are very handsome...love the big black manes! Great ellie sightings too!
