It’s so sad to see accommodation run down like this and SP still charging those high prices for it....

Why do people always have to complain before SP realise they need to do something about it.

Or do they have this attitude that if you are not happy then go somewhere else because there’s always other people also interested in staying there

The Kruger is such a big attraction, that people will go there anyway. Maybe when the pandemic will be over and people can go to other countries, they will get a surprise -O-

I think it is a combination of factors, mostly poor management at camp level. Managers get good salaries but in some camps don't inspect accommodation, which is a simple task, and have become used to relying on complaints rather. This does not bother them and is a mindset common in SA civil service, responding to problems after the fact and then still feeling the job has been done,so what is the problem?

The other thing is the reliance on tenders for makeovers of entire units. This is lucrative but/and time-consuming, also in line with govt. mentality.

Linked to this is the absence of in-house services such as gardening, thatching, building etc. All outsourced, leading to more delays andrequiring extra supervision. Easy to find excuses.

The excuses fall away when one looks at some camps that are brilliant and some terrible, given the exact same constraints, with the only difference being committed management at various times.

Some camp managers obviously do not work properly and don't suffer from a bad conscience O/

The control has always been a problem on all levels!! You cannot trust everybody to do a proper work, when they know that nobody is bothering to control 0*\
