We saw this big boy from Letaba in October 2012. Aat said it could have been Malopenyana.

Only seen lion 3 times from camp.
2 years ago at Lower Sabie before gate opening we were sitting on the veranda having coffee and a lion popped it’s head out, but it was still fairly dark, so I didn’t bother with a camera until 2 males suddenly charged out the bush and jumped on a hippos back, however I grabbed the Cow’s point and shoot camera which couldn’t handle in the light, so by the time I grabbed my camera (which also battled), the hippo had chucked the lion off and had made it into the Sabie river. (The dust in the 1st pic is from the hippo roaring off into the water)
Our best sighting (if you can call it that) was at Satara when just after dark 3 males attacked a 4th male and mauled him until he was barely mobile. I didn’t try for pics as it was chaos with half the camp pushing along the fence line. I don’t think the campers had any sleep that night as the roaring continued until around 3am.
Then Talamati obviously as lion drink there most nights and if your timing is right you score.
Have to start packing for KNP, so will continue later
