The Pilanesberg Centre has re-opened. There is a convenience shop (InDaBush) and a Restaurant (Zebra Crossing) Pay us a visit.

Hi Bern. This is the best news I have heard in Loooooong time. My wife are going to be at Manyane for 25 and 26 June.
Hope that we can get our toasted bacon, egg and cheese for breakfast once again.

Visitors to Pilanesberg have been warned to take care while travelling to the park. Protesters have been stoning cars and causing mayhem on the N4....

Protesters block roads in Majakaneng

Protesters barricaded the Old Pretoria Road and the N4 highway in Majakaneng near Brits, North West police said on Friday.

"The protesters are angry over an apparent lack of water in their area, [and] motorists were being directed to use alternative routes," Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said.

Protesters were splitting into groups and burning tyres along the roads, he said.

On Thursday, protesters looted shops owned by foreigners in retaliation to police shooting rubber bullets at them, said resident Pule Rakomane.

A cement truck was torched by residents demanding better service delivery on Thursday.

Floods in Pilanesberg

This was posted on FB half an hour ago:

Extremely heavy down pour in the Pilanesberg. The river at the bottom of Bagatla has burst its banks. No-one allowed into the Park as it is badly flooded. We believe people have deserted their vehicles and are on foot. The rangers are looking for them. Out caravan tent is under water. Really crazy. Keep a close eye on the river. A bit to close for comfort
