loopholes for abuse???

Conservation should be the way to go...not moneymaking. Communities reap rewards regarding job creation and satellite industries around Kruger, and they know it!

That's not new at all. In terms of BEE, the good practise outlined in the request for PPP proposals is usually (and has been in 2009 for this project): Ownership (shareholding) by black people should be at least 20% and 10% by local Community Trust.

Hmmmm....

I still think this is a grey area, as SANParks is a parastatal...100% government owned. Certainly, contractors and members of the supply chain have to be BEE compliant, as do private concessions and what not...but this is a different story...

According to this logic all communities near camps should receive shares in them?

That's the plan, RP. Job creation and shareholding might (?) ensure that communities value and respect the need for conservation. If you think further it's an anti-poaching plan. Who knows, but looking at the PPP projects from this angle, it would make sense to get some Mozambique communities on board as shareholders  .

Also...what if they move the site nearer another community? These communities are merciless and watch what the other is getting, and word spreads! 0*\

IDC and PIC are owned by the South African government, this is an interesting detail as the project goes under the label PPP and the financial risk should be taken over by the private party lol

Indeed,..

Thy will do another loge then for the neighbouring community,..

Both of you are talking common sense, however in the fray of matters,
A difficult endeavor to police!!!.

This is where the PDZ initiative promulgated by .gov leaves lotsa room
For thought, a grey area!!!

RP, this country has sunk to the lower levels where the moral issues are set
Aside for now!! Better me grab what’s left over before someone else does!!!
No moral integrity,…

Toks,.

Sanparks take so much to heart, re local communities outside the fence and
The wellbeing thereof, I ask, what about those poor suckers not bordering a
National park??? Both sides of a fence!!!???

So we owe Zim and Moz and Les and Swas and so on and so meer,.

Basically this is purely a .gov ploy through the channels downwards creating
Scenarios, hopefully uplifting!!!

I fail to see how the IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) can be regarded as an investor? They provide cheap government loans for mostly Black Empowerment schemes...but you have to pay back the loan... :-?

Same with PIC...Public Investment Corporation...also loans?

I also can't understand how Residor can be both an investor and the managing agent of the hotel, which has been their role up until now pending completion?

Weird!
There is quite a lot of confusion in this whole matter. The following might be details, but why are they not giving the right information?

1. The name is the Rezidor Group.
2. It is a public Swedish campany and as such under the Swedish law. Denmark and Norway are probably still important stockholders. Initially the hotel group was owned by SAS, Scandinavian Airline System, with Swedish, Danish and Norwegian participation. This is probably no longer the case.

The Rezidor Group is most likely the investor and The Radisson Blue the managing agent.
