Outing 7.8.2012

All start very quietly this morning at my little pond, a mating couple of Slug, then nothing... usual Starlings, Crows, Swallows (impossible to have a picture) and on the way back, wow three juv. Red Foxes playing in the sun, a bit far away. I stayed a long time with them.
At the hide, a fly of Northern Lapwing, landing far away amongst Grey Herons

Outing 8.8.2012
I decide to go to La Grande Cariçaie, each time just before the sunshine... to see the mist vanish, while arrived the Europeen Kingfisher (no new for the others). Then arrive Panure à moustaches/Bearded Reedling and then Mallard with 5 chicks, 3 yellow and black, one yellow and one grey. They are important for the suite of the tale, not the colours, the number of the chicks
Then arrives a Purple Heron, what a beauty and then, in the air a big bird of prey surprised everybody... landing in the reeves... a lot of noises... all the birds, ducks stay in place, make front and then the Busard des roseaux/Western Marsh Harrier make cinema, jump and jump again, noises continue... but at last I can count the chicks... still 5... what a relief \O
