They have been seagulls for a thousand years. Some maniac probably changed the name last year or something... O**

"Seagull" after all is only a word and probably colloquial, scientifically they are only "gulls" ;-)

With day visitors from adjacent provinces returning to @SANParksKNP
, rare bird sightings are once again being reported, and the much loved skimmers have returned to Sunset Dam by Lower Sabie 6 days earlier than 2019... remember they vanished as a breeding bird from 1938 to 2017

I wonder if they have nested there. It started with one and now there are three :-?

They nest from Sept to December and later mainly in the Okavango, Chobe Zambezi River banks (Beach sand) ..They dont do dams and the winter times they are in Kruger is wrong for breeding too ..BUT Super Exciting ..Great birds to photograph feeding ..There was one at Pioneer dam last year ..also Winter time
