Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary NEW CALF

Post by RogerFraser »

BREAKING NEWS: NEW CALF ❗️🦏
Just two and a half weeks after Tom’s arrival, another orphaned calf has been flown to Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary this afternoon. Rescued in the Kruger National Park after his mother was shot and killed, our newest arrival was accompanied by SANParks Veterinarian Dr Peter Buss, Ranger Don English and Pilot Brad Grafton. Thanks to their rapid rescue efforts, this little one who is estimated to be around 5-6 months old, did not spend too long alone in the blistering heat.
On arrival at the CFW helipad, Petronel and the SANParks team performed vital checks, completed mandatory DNA sampling and microchipping, drew blood for the rhino orphan database and changed his drip. He is now settled in the CFW Intensive Care Unit where he will be monitored closely overnight. He is still sleeping but as he begins to wake up, Petronel and the team will begin to offer him milk. If you would like to help and support our newest orphan, please follow the donation links in the storyboard.
Updates to follow...
