The grass is too tall for the leopard
Lovely pic of the fish eagle on the low branch

Some waterbuck were on the lookout at the dam but nothing much was moving so we carried on back towards camp.
We managed to sneak up next to this mongoose without it disappearing .
This breeding herd was moving fairly quickly towards the dam it seemed
This little buck was sitting dead still .Possibly good camouflages for a predator without color cones .With them it was quite a stand out .
At the crime scene the Jackal seemed to have its fill and was sleeping close by and some younger Hyenas were looking for scraps .
Close to camp we found more Jackals
We arrived at camp and did a brunch meal and did some work and rested .
This colorful Barbet stopped by to visit us .

The crested barbet is one of my fav. birds
Not much left of the buff, only bone
Cute mongoose, ready to run away

Nice mongoose shot, Rog! They are difficult buggers!
Amazing how quickly the carcass disappears!

Re: Remember remember to do some work in September .
It was overcast and cooler by the time we left camp for our afternoon drive .
Our first sighting did not seem to impressed with the weather .
The steenbok was quite visible without any color in the area due to the fires earlier in the year.
Some Kudu with impressive horns crossed over the road .
Some Giraffe were hunting the new shoots out .
This Nyala bull was not too happy to see us but we did manage a pic .
We managed to snap a pic of the Doe as well
We visited the Hyena den and spent a bit of time watching the games .
There was even less buff left with only a few Vultures and one fat Hyena sleeping behind a bush .
We started on our way back hoping to find the Dogs again .
As we crossed over one of the small bridges we heard a screetch and found this juvenile Eagle Owl shouting for something and the parent was just ignoring it .
SO Loves owls so we spent quite a bit of time here and took a video .
We drove back to camp with only this sighting right at the camp gate :
