A lovely view from the camp with the big tree in the centre ^Q^

The pied kingfisher does look very big ;-) lol

Another fleeing leopard, but at least you saw it \O

That's a lot of food for two people, but maybe the next days lunch is included ;-)

The following morning was the SO's actual birthday . The rugrats had also banded together to treat us a meal at the Skukuza Selati restaurant .So we decided to leave early do SO favorite Biyamiti loop and then take a break before heading to the big city for lunch .
Some early flowers for SO birthday
Image

Crossing the Malambe Weir there was a dragon fly catching a ride on a Turtle
Image

Some cute Hyenas close to Biyamiti
Image

SO snapped a Bee-eater close to Biyamiti with breakfast
Image

Image

Biyamiti Weir looked stunning as we approached
Image

And then we found out they were harvesting sand from the weir for roadworks 0*\

Image

there was still a bird in the water
Image

And a tiny Crock on the sand
Image

We carried on the Biyamiti loop and found the Klippies on duty
Image

And then we met this little guy ... O**
Image

He walk back and forward and snacked on the grass along the road and snacked on the grass and snacked on the grass and snacked on the grass and snacked on the grass Image

eventually after reversing a bit and waiting about 30 mins for him to leave the the road we turned around lol

Image

On the way back to the weir we fond this little guy ...
Image

We stopped to see the Hyenas again
Image

and a few birds on the way
Image

Image

We decided to drive the S121 loop before heading back to camp for breakfast ...

It must have been the famous "big snacker" elephant that you saw  ;-)

A pity that they were working at the weir, as it is one of the best places for water birds :-(

Funny face turtle \O

The hyenas are really cute at that age

Lovely carmine bee-eater ^Q^ ^Q^

A great selection, Rog! \O

I love the dragonfly and the baby croc! [O]

Do they really have to get sand right at the weir? Maybe it is also to deepen it, but doesn't look like it...

-O- might have been to deepen it as it has been full of sand recently but not sure
