After lunch we had a break before going back out in the late afternoon .The plan was to go past the two sets of Lions and see if there was any activity . There was no activity by the ex Zebra kill still so we went down to the other pride . Some of the Lions were now waking and cleaning in the grass in the side .We stopped and watched them for a while .While we were watching a Sanparks drive arrived drove past us and reversed and kept reversing until they both blocked our view and nearly hit our car had I not moved out the way at the last moment .Needless to say I was @#$ @#$ but SO would not let me give him a piece of my mind as there was tourists on the drive ...

We decided to rather leave and take a slow drive back to the other Lions. On the way we found some of SO favorite little scavengers
Image

We then spent the rest of the time watching the coming and goings around the Lions and leftover Zebra .The Hyenas were wanting to get some leftovers but very wary of the Lion who was still sleeping with his prize rack of ribs ...
Image

One of the Lionesses appeared out the ridge and slowly approached creeping up towards the leftovers
Image

But he was not in a mood to share as soon as she got close he woke up
Image

He stood up and made sure they knew not to approach .
Image

The Lioness lay down in the Grass and a second Lioness started to approach . They greeted each other then lay cleaning each other
Image

It was a lovely time of day to sit and watch them
Image

We even had some Plovers in the road with the Hyenas .
Image

The Hyenas were trying to muster the courage to challenge for their stake but were not quite brave enough
Image

Image

Image

Unfortunately it was eventually time to leave to camp on the road to camp SO snapped a sunset
Image

And in camp we took another that also shows how high the grass was .Would not want to go walking about here at night ...
Image

That night we found a visitor on a tree using the blacklight but only got a blurry pic

The next morning we woke up to this fellow hunting in the river bed across from us
Image

It was the day to move to Malelane so we packed and left early .
Some flowers with the early dew
Image

We found the Hyenas on the road again suckling and stopped to watch
Image

Low and behold a SANPARKS OSV arrived and pushed passed us upsetting the hyenas and causing them to scatter ... @#$ @#$

Image

Image

As can be seen it was a wet start to the day .This stork was not happy with the weather
Image

There was some activity at the Giraffe carcass near Satara
Image

The cleanup crew was busy ...
Image

A roller close to Satara
Image

Shortly after leaving Satara on the way down south we found a Ground hornbill with breakfast
