We had hardly returned home and packed away the Kruger stuff when I got an urgent call from my client near Phabeni . Need you to come to site to meet the new manager and to fix a report . Ok sure will come up in a weeks time and a plan was formulated for a quick trip to Kruger
My sister was staying with us oh we will be at Marloth that weekend .Perfect will come up an stay with you then go to Pretoriuskop on Sunday to go to the client site each day . eSwatini ( Swaziland ) had opened borders for travel with only a vax certificate so we would finally be able to take the short route again
After traveling up through Swaziland uneventfully and going to Marloth we had a drive along the fence and a nice evening with my sister .The following morning we left early to Croc Bridge on the way to Pretoriuskop .
After getting into the park there was a traffic jam up at the dam and from the bridge we could see a sleeping Lion
Not getting involved in that jam we carried on up the S28
SO spotted the Burchell's coucal
and an Owl that refused to look at us
Turning onto the S137 towards Dukes we had a huge 4x4 campervan with foreign plates turn in behind us and just up the road spots
It was marking its territory and we followed behind for some way before it moved into the tall grass .
The last we saw of the spots was
We found a vulture still waking up
We drove up to Lower Sabie for breakfast and at Sunset dam we found a Crocodile
and a barn Swallow diving in and out of the drain
We carried on up the H4 to go down the S21 towards the West ..
Urgent work trip May...

Re: Urgent work trip May...
Not far along the S21 there was a traffic jam and the cause could just be made out in the grass
Not wanting to get into the Scrum we carried on
Came across this fellow who had a little tantrum at the car infront who drove very close while he was in the bath so we let him cross over the road
By this stage it was heating up and another traffic jam revealed more Lions in a shady spot on a high rocky outcrop
We had very little else to see for the rest of the trip towards Pretoriuskop until we decided to go past our favourite spot Silthave dam .On the way down the road there was a Buf and bird
As we pulled around the corner SO remarked about those waterbuck are alert
and soon we found out why when the Lion sleeping behind the bush rolled over and woke up
We sat and watched the buck all try out stare the Lion
The Impala where the funniest as they even approached the bush barking all the time at the Lion
Most of the time the Lion was either sleeping or ignoring the silly buck
Suddenly there was a rumble of thunder in the distance and the Lion decided to leave the area in a hurry .
That evening we had a huge thunderstorm with rain and very cold first evening .
