Thanks everyone for all the comments.

We had a short break at Melvlei and set off for Twee Rivieren

After Kij Kij we came across the lioness with 3 cubs which had been in the area for a while on a gemsbok kill

Having seen enough, we travelled to Twee Rivieren

There we booked into the Botswana side for Two Rivers and were given directions to the campsite

OK !!

So the campsite was ok.
Sort of what we expected, but unfortunately so were the ablutions
See what I mean here:

A trip back to reception followed.
No accommodation for three nights at Twee Rivieren or Rooiputs, so we returned to Two Rivers and set up camp

Luckily we had a spade with us

(Rant over)

All that being said, once we were settled in, we had an amazing time in the camp

Thanks Lisbeth :)

Saturday 6 May 2023

After a peaceful night’s sleep we were up early and left Two Rivers just after gate opening time
The first 30 minutes of our drive were uneventful, until we reached the Rooiputs waterhole.
A lone lioness was drinking in the early morning light.

After a while she moved away and headed up the riverbed in a northerly direction

Looking at her, we wondered if she was pregnant, or just full

Whatever, she was a beautiful lady, obviously on a mission

She eventually crossed the road and disappeared over the dunes into Botswana

Nipples protuding, I'd say that lioness was about to burst with little ones. -O-

Those cubs at Kij - did one of them have kind of a bad eye? Looks a bit like it is sagging, but just might be a dark scar?

And I think, you are the very first person who ever reported to have acutally camped at Two Rivers. I've always thought that that camp was just a myth. lol But, boy, it looks filthy 0-
