The following morning we left camp at gate opening and headed down the river road towards the hide again .

We stopped to watch the sunrise and get some shots
Image

Some other vehicles came zooming past obviously in a hurry to find something to view
Image

We pulled off and had barely gone 500m went around a corner the two vehicles were a few hundred meters up the road and SO yelled out STOP. And there on the side of the road was some more Lions

Image

They had been sleeping under some bushes for the night and started to wake up .
Image

Slowly they seemed to keep appearing out of the bush and wandering off into a drainage area in the bushes at one stage we thought they were hunting something but could not be sure as we could not see into the dense bushes .
Image

Image

We had been joined by one other vehicle and each had a great view of them for some time before they all vanished .We waited a while and searched up and down the road but there was no signs of them anymore so carried on our morning drive .

We spotted a funny scruffy bird no idea of the ID
Image

A Brown headed Kingfisher
Image

and a Buff that may have had a run in with the Lions or another Buff
Image

The S118 was quiet so we decided to head towards Berg En Dal .

We decided to drive the S110 Sand around the hill to Berg En Dal
Some scenic views
Image

We found some sparing Giraffes
Image

Image

We stopped to watch an Elie drinking water
Image

Image

After drinking he of course wondered our way and soon was too close to zoom out
Image

So we drove off to Berg En Dal to have a late brunch. We ordered a three egg Omelette and can honestly say it was probably the worst breakfast we have had at any restaurant .We have vowed to not ever go back to the Berg En Dal restaurant . We went to fuel up the car for our trip to the next camp and as we had booked a sunset drive we decided to take a slow drive back to camp .Where we had a picknick and took some pics of the locals in camp

Nice pic of the kurrishane thrush \O

Giraffes doing something ^Q^ ;-)

An omelette looks so simple and so easy to make, but actually making a REAL omelette is not that easy. The French brasseries are the places to get a superb omelette especially if filled with ham and cheese.

When my husband and I travelled often in France, it was our preferred lunch (with a salad) and also cheap ;-)
