A Cat a Day, almost every day: Kgalagadi Oct/Nov 2023

I don’t know what it is, but the hardest part of writing a travel tale is trying to decide on a title for the trip. :o0ps:

That’s also probably why I only really get around to writing about our most recent trip to the Kgalagadi a few months before we are due to go again.
Hopefully after our July chilly trip scheduled for this year, I won’t have the same problem

For this trip however I did, but eventually decided on
“A cat a day, almost every day"

We were really blessed to have bookings at:
Kielie Krankie
Mata Mata
Nossob
Gharagab
Polentswa and Rooiputs

Could one ask for anything more?

O/\ O/\

We left Cape Town on Wednesday 25 October 2023 at 2.30 in the morning and decided that the old toppies still had it to drive all the way up to the park

We creamed it, O/\ O/\ and by 3 pm we were booked in and on our way to Kieliekrankie, where we were to spend the next 3 nights
Wow was it hot!!

Our first sighting of note was of this male ostrich, I think at Samevloeiing waterhole

Then at around Leeudril, we came upon this lady, trying to deal with the afternoon heat.

Great to have you all on board 0/*

Thursday 26 October 2023 (A crazy day)

Kieliekrankie is a wonderful camp, but besides an African Wild Cat and a brown Hyena, we have never seen much there.
The views and solitude make up for that.
100 times over

Well this year, all that was about to change.
Big time
O/\ O/\

We woke up early so as to watch the sunrise, and as soon as the sun rose to the extent that we could see what was going on we saw
This big daddy male at the waterhole

And, upon further investigation

a female and 3 sub adults as well all enjoying an early morning drink
