Getting back to my original sentiment, I received a rather heartening reply from the assistant manager today.

It seems they are implimenting a number of programs to improve the condition of this section of the park. Among others, they have doubled the size of this area by acquiring additional land, they have moved some of the bulk grazers away, they are planning to reduce the general game numbers further, they are plowing, planting and packing brush to protect the new growth and a number of other programs.

I am sure this will make this park even better.
