Stunning pictures all!

What a beautiful series of pics of the Grey-headed Bush-shrike Leachy! Not easy to photograph them and you got it all!

We have a pair of Crested Barbets living in the two nesting logs in our garden, they occupy both and it depends on the female's mood where they sleep the night. The male was alone for about six months, calling and calling everyday and we were so glad when the female joined him about 18 months ago. They have raised two sets of chicks already and are very good parents. This is the male and he cleans house all the time.

You must Flutterby, they entertain us all day long!

You can buy the logs from a garden nursery for around R55 to R75 depending on the size. We capped it with an old coffee can so it woun't rot from the rain. The whole must face South East. The log comes with only a shallow hole and the barbet does the rest, it only takes them a couple of days to excavate the whole nest.
