Super sightings with good light. Love the bokkie, duiker.
Wonder what the carcas was? It does look as large as one of the bigger buck.

Thanks very much Amoli. We seem to think that it is an eland carcass.Amoli wrote: Super sightings with good light. Love the bokkie, duiker.

One of the ladies on Friends of The Rietvlei on Facebook is going to check it out tomorrow morning.

Re: Rietvlei Nature Reserve through Greenies' Eyes
The last couple of photos for 16 October 2013.
Our best sighting of eland to date.
Long-tailed paradise-whydah.
Northern black korhaan.
A female ignoramus.
Heading back to where the male ignoramus was waiting.
When Joan saw these two at the restaurant she mentioned to them that she had been a bit far into the bush and that there were rhino nearby. He replied that she was a guide to which Joan replied that that does not make any difference as one cannot get out of your car.
Just to the left of the female in the top photo were the two rhino in the following photos.
A very handsome ostrich in full breeding colours.
A little egret fluffing his feathers.
Anyone want to surf. Cattle egret.
Two rhino having a bit of a tussle over feed.
Pin-tailed whydah at Fern Hide.
That's all folks.
