Great birds and I love the black-shouldered kite, my favourite small raptor. Great to see a black wildebeest ^Q^ ^Q^

Yesterday - 07.01.2016 - with the temperature reaching 38c in our home Joan and I decided to take refuge in the car with its air conditioning and headed for Rietvlei again. The outside temperature reached 41.7c.

Here are few pics of our 5 hour visit.

An Egyptian Goose keeping cool at Marais Dam.

With a Spurwing Goose that refused to wake up despite all the racket- another first for us at Rietvlei.

These two made us make U-turn and backtrack as they were not going to get out the road.
