Just before Otter Bridge was a lone buffalo.

Image

On the bridge I saw a Little Egret fishing, but as there was traffic I couldn't stop too long. :O^

Pin-tailed Whydah

While parked near the bridge I saw Moggiedog stopped on the other side photographing something. I waited for them and they excitedly told me they had just seen 4 otters! 0*\ After a brief chat they moved off and I decided to turn around to see if I could spot the otters. As I was turning I saw them run across the road behind me. This was the only pic I managed to get. :O^

Image

A Malachite Kingfisher was just too far away for a decent shot. :O^

Image

I then headed to Island View Bird Hide where I found a lifer - Whiskered Tern. :-0

Adult and juvenile.

These pink flowers are aliens: Pompom weed Campuloclinium macrocephalum  a Category 1 invasive alien species that spreads rampantly through Gauteng grasslands.
