Re: Flavour of the month December 2013 - S128
Not long ago and by sheer luck, I rediscovered the road. It is relatively free of traffic and for this reason a pleasure to drive.
Predominantly open to semi savannah with few big trees which makes for good viewing. Game is fairly plentiful and a big bonus is of course a natural dam, which attracts a wide variety of wildlife. As I normally spend a whole morning there I go well prepared with sufficient provisions for breakfast, lunch and lots to drink.
The dam is not indicated on any map at hand but is clearly visible from the road. (See map for approximate location of dam.) I have thus named it "Moonshine dam" the reason for which can’t be mentioned here but taken the time I spend and the amount of fluids consumed, it is imo appropriately christened.
For a relatively short road it has proved to be productive and definitely gets my vote for a worthwhile drive.
Early morning and getting ready for the day
That should do it
Come on little one
But Maaaaa, its still so early to go walkabout
Life can sometimes be such a bum

My focus was still on the bummie zebras when I noticed some of them were looking to the right The logical thing do was to also look to the right just in case they might have noticed a predator or something

Approaching the water right at the end of the herd
Mostly right by mom's side - maybe he was just curious
Tiny indeed - Signs of the birth still clearly visible
