We had finished our brunch at a picnic spot close to the South Alligator River with a ramp for boats.
Since I had read that you had to be careful at such jetties, I decided to try my luck and see if I
could find myself a croc basking in the sun there...
Yes!
And something in the water that looked like a mudskipper.
There are no Kangaroos Down Under!?

We went back to Mamukala bird hide to see what was going on there.
In the surroundings to the hide I found:
Immature Broad Billed Flycatcher (Thanks to Dewi I got this ID )
(64)
Long Tailed Finch
(65)
Willy Wagtail
(66)

View from the hide:
The Green Pygmy Geese were out again:
As was the Comb Crest Jacana Chick...
And as usual there were kites everywhere.

Great bird pics Mel. Love the Whistling Kite one.
So, is that a saltie or a freshie croc?

Hi Mel
I am just loving seeing all the birds you captured on your holiday
My Aussie bird list isn't nearly as long - and I'm an Aussie!!
The South Alligator River was in the news earlier this year, when a fisherman was actually taken from his boat near the boat ramp.
Glad you didn't get too close to the croc in your picture
Hope you will have time to finish this TR before your Kgalagadi trip

Thank you, Pumbaa
And I hope I'll be done by KTP, melou, but I fear that's not all too likely.
Will try though. Hence, time to move on.
