Peter Betts Kruger adventures

Post by Polentswa »

I started going to Kruger as a 3 month old baby in March 1951 and since 1960 I have been 110 times for trips of a week and longer..This Aug will be Trip 111 (18 days at Tamboti Camp tent 22) I have known many of the old Rangers in Kruger and spent many School Holidays and later work leave at their remote homes learning about the bush

Christmas morning 2006 05H00 at the Biyamiti Weir 45 minutes with this cat

I don't usually do the South as I hate Leopard images on tar roads or with cars as a background..This one ticked my boxes though ^Q^

Aug 2012 we camped at Satara for a week and we were on our way to Hoedspruit Spar to replenish groceries and I had to see a customer in the Hood as well and came across Master Spots near Bobbejaanskrans on the H7

I don't really enjoy camping at Satara as it is too big and crowded but it does have a real Gem of a location 18 kms south = Nkaya Pan

As everyone pours down the S100 I drift down to Nkaya Pan to await the day waking up...so quiet in that busy area

We spent Christmas week in 2012 at Sirheni Bush Camp to really spoil ourselves ...Every morning I would be the only car out at 04h30 and I went straight to the Boyela Windmill crossing the S56 and using the S 57 to get to the tar road . 4 mornings out of 7 I found the Boyela Pride there ..This is one of the lionesses well before sunrise listening to distant communication from the rest of her approaching tribe..Tar road yes BUT no other cars at hour long sightings some morning. They really got used to me

Klopperfontein is one of my favourite watering holes in the Punda Maria area ..A lovely hour or two spent there is always rewarding..This Ellie had a brilliant sense of humour \O
