Which bungalow, campsite or cottage

Post by Alf »

If you get the chance to pick 1 bungalow or cottage or camp site inside KNP and they say you can use it for free for one week during a year, which one would you pick and why?

For me it depends on what time of year and how busy the camps are but when quiet i would choose guest cottage 110 in Letaba. It's close to the edge with a nice view and also the pedestrian path stops before 109 and don't go all the way to 110 so no people walking past.

When the park is more busy i would choose family cottage no 1 at Sirheni. The camp are lovely and the bird life amazing and i can site on the stoep all day long and relax.

But then i also think about bungalow no 14 in Olifants. Nothing can beat that view.

What are your choice??

I can never remember the numbers, Alf... O-/

Campsite...there is the westernmost one at Punda, behind a big termite heap! I think it's changed a bit now with the prefab tents...but was very nice! X#X

I just sleep in huts...only special is the riverfront ones at Olifants...quite a magnificent way to stumble out of bed! =O:

Keartland guest house at Lower Sabie as it's a game rich area and a great peaceful private garden with fantastic views or Stanley guest house at Satara as the old style house is fantastic and the waterhole in front has plenty action at night.

Either of these places one isn't worried about crowds as they are private and one will see almost as much game from the unit, so driving around isn't essential, but what is essential is one has to hit the lotto first to afford it =O:

ooh! Now that you mention it...Monis Guest House in Skuks is like an oasis, and utterly unique! Remind me to put up those pics...it's like an oasis.

Then you have to visit the bank afterwards...but worth it! O/\

Don't know, perhaps I have been at 10 or 13, but I love the camp, it's quiet and lovely to spend some time on the stoep
