"Around the corner" looks much better \O

I love those old Baltic towns. I lived in Flensburg for some time, when the old towns were less old lol You are right about the cars :-(

Rollmobs and labskaus together :-?

The labskaus that my mother made was different though......luckily lol Looking it up the one that you had seems to be the original one ;-)

I prefer the fish

I am so happy that you are having sunshine ^Q^ ^Q^

A lot of German "Gemütlichkeit" to be seen through your pictures, Mel O/\

Thanks Lis, nan, RP, Alf, steamtrainfan and Flutty O0

Lis, I find the thought of Labskaus and Rollmops together quite distressing... The SO loves it though. 0- lol Flensburg might be on the cards next time. Not sure yet. We only know that we want to do this again and maybe even trying to establish something of a tradition of it over the next years. Although I would go back to Eckernförde immediately, I think there is so much else to discover up there. The downside is, it must be a reasonable driving distance if you can go for only three nights (And don't suggest giving up Föhr lol )

nan, glad you enjoy it :-)

Alf, at least you like the fish. More to come with the final episode. O**

RP, no idea what those houses really cost. We did have a general look at properties and found the prices much lower than you would have to pay here in Wolfsburg
which seems ridiculous in the first place. But then this region is rather wealthy since we got Volkswagen doing so well at the moment.

As for the satellite dishes - Germany is well equipped with cable. Not many regions that still have to rely on those ugly pans.

Pumbaa, that small tavern, pub or whatever you want to call it (not really a restaurant, even though the food was delicious) was particularly nice: The furniture was
actually like you got in the seventies with those ugly flowery covers on the seat paddings, but they had replace the table tops with modern, sturdy wood which blended in well and the decoration was also appropriate. ^Q^

Flutts, both beer and food went down well. lol

We were incredibly lucky with the weather! While it was raining somewhen during the night from Friday to Saturday, we had lots of sunshine and agreeable temperatures during the day. And Sunday morning I got up around 7.30 with the sun shining brightly again. However that lasted only for an hour and it took the sun the better part of the morning to fight through the clouds again. Hence, we skipped our original plan to go on an outing up northeast and opted for a walk at the beach and some shopping. O**

Some photos from the walk:

The regatta was in full swing:
