2018-19 Department of Tourism Annual Report:

https://www.tourism.gov.za/AboutNDT/Min ... ourism.pdf

page 36
The following destination enhancement projects were
not supported:
1. Shangoni Gate.
2. PhalaborwaWild Activity Hub.
Reason for variance:
For Phalaborwa Wildlife
Activity Hub, there was a delay in finalisation of the
environmental impact authorisation.
Corrective measure:
Phalaborwa: Follow-ups on the Environmental Impact
Assessment (EIA) will be facilitated on a continued basis to
ensure further processes begins promptly following the
approvals being granted.

RE: THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF A SAFARI LODGE AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE PHALABORWA SECTION (MOPANEVELD REGION), KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

We wish to inform you that the above-mentioned development proposal has been stopped due to unforeseen circumstances which make the development project unviable.

We thank you for your involvement in the participation process for the project.

Should you have queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
