28th August 2015 - Day 8: Skukuza
This was our last full day in Kruger, so we tried a different route - H11, S1, S4, S3 and loop back to Skukuza on H11. The road was quiet and the dogs from previous day were long gone.
On the S3, we came across a Jeep Jockey who was driving back and forwards, on questioning him there was supposed to be a Leopard on a kill hidden in a koppie along the river. It took us a while but we found the right spot and waited. He was right, there was a Leopard mom and a cub on a kill.
First all we could find was the cub chewing on a leg.
Then the Mom made an appearance on the main part if the kill.
After eating they both made their way off into the rocks, and by this time there were about 20 cars around us, so we moved on.
With a pit stop at Kruger Gate
And another angry Ellie on the way back to Skukuza, must be the silver Discovery that they don’t like ??

SN catching up again .
Some really stunning sightings .
That Blackie looks like it had a rough time .
Our previous trip the Ellies all took a dislike to our Blue Discovery so might be onto something there ...

28th August 2015 - Day 8: Skukuza (Part 2)
Our midday break had some entertainment for us, as the Lesotho guests had not booked out and were refusing to move. New guests had checked in and were waiting for the unit but the Lesotho guests were not moving for anyone.
Sanparks eventually arrived to conduct an eviction and the Lesotho guests were on the way out the park. Three cleaners had to be sent in to remove the cases of empty Johnny Walker bottles.
Then a walk to the statue for our annual Statue Photos
And a last evening drive down the H4-1, we had time so agreed to drive down to the N’watimhiri Causeway
Three heads popped up over the grass very interested in something further up the river back
It was a herd of Buffalo that was causing the interest but they were not interested in the lions
So the Lions returned to the reeds to sleep
As we turned down into the causeway sand road, we spotted a Leopard.
It was late and there was only us and another car, so we both turned off out engines and enjoyed the sighting.
After about 20 minutes, something made a noise coming up from the river. This gave the Leopard a fright and it shot across the road, disappearing into the bush.
A great last evenings sighting.

Some people obviously do not come to the park in order to enjoy nature
There is one missing in the yearly pic
Another leopard
