Sunday 27th August continued...

The day ended with a pleasant drive back along the H4-1 to Lower Sabie, with short detours at the H12 and H10 to soak up the views. The light was gorgeous, as it often is at that time of day.

It was our second last night in Kruger but our last opportunity to go on a Night Drive and search for the ever-elusive Serval, so after a quick dinner we climbed on the truck one more time. It turned out to be a fantastic evening for nocturnal wildlife. We turned up 4 Genets, 2 Civets, 2 African Wild Cats, 3 Marsh Owls and a Scrub Hare. Sadly no Serval, but at least that gives us an excuse to come back! Also encountered throughout the course of the evening were Elephant, Giraffe, Hippo, Kudu, Impala, Wildebeest, Zebra, Steenbok and Grey Duiker. We still didn't manage a decent shot of a Civet, but several other beauties posed for us. What a great end to an epic day!
