DAY 3 - SUNDAY 10 OCTOBER 2013. PART 1/5

We are now at that stage where we do not get up to be waiting at the gate for it to open.

We now get up and take our time and go out at about 07:00 every morning.

And so it was today.

We decided to take Potokwane Loop and it paid off. At 07:15 we came across 2 adult lioness , 2 sub adults and two tiny cubs.

Let the photos tell the story.

At 07:30 they walked off into the bush and disappeared.

We then moved to go and have breakfast at Fish Eagle picnic spot.

Part 2/5 to follow.

DAY 3 - SUNDAY 10 OCTOBER 2013. PART 2/5

While having breakfast at Fish Eagle we noticed a large number of cars stopped on the junction of Hippo Loop and Tshwene Drive.

While wondering what it was they were looking at another gent arrived and I asked if he knew.

He told me that there were three cheetah on the far plain.

We finished eating and then made our way to Hippo Loop.

When we first arrived we could see three cheetah quite a far way into the bush. It was now 09:30.

We the noticed two warthog walking directly toward the cheetah and the adrenalin immediately started to rise.

Image

The piggies suddenly became aware of the cheetah and turned and sprinted away. The cheetah on the right had no interest in what was going on.

Image

The piggies stopped , turned around and looked at the cheetah.

Image

The piggies carried on in this way for about 30 minutes..................

Image

................until the cheetah got tired of this game and walked towards our car.

Image

Standing right next to our car. All the time the third cheetah was out of sight.

Image

A short while later the third cheetah arrived.

Image

The crossed Tshwene Drive and went and sat in the grass in the middle of Hippo Loop.

Image

They eventually walked off at 10:30 and disappeared.

A very exciting and entertaining 60 minutes.

Part 3/5 to follow.
