Well, they decided to turn the power of to the town again today, so I decided that the park was the place to be.
I headed straight for Sable Dam just after 14h00, and was met by these ugliest of birds. They did however put up a show for me.
While I was transfixed on this ugly sight, I never even noticed this bull ellie brushing past my car on his way to the water. He then went in and also seemed to be doing a show just for me.
Once he was done he made his move for dry land, yip, right past me again.
He then stood eating grass right next to me, some of the grass hit my car as he played with it. I couldn't get any pics as he was too close.
When he moved off, I did the same and headed for the hide. What a mistake, the parking area was overflowing with cars and people moving around. This is what they were there for...
The Sable pride was enjoying the afternoon on the dam wall. They all stood up when they heard a male roaring on the other side of the wall. I must say, it sounded great but with all the cars and people there, I made a duck...
These little critters are far more interesting than a pride of lion way in the distance...
The plan is to have lunch at Olifants tomorrow, so maybe a double instalment this weekend.
