Re: Sprocky's visits to Kruger Park
Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posting here, but my wild card expired and I took my time renewing it.
Well, last Sunday started off a bit rough after celebrating the Sharks victory into the early hours. After watching the GP I told J-Lee that I would buy her a Steers burger if we could eat it at Sable Dam, she had no issue with this as she was also missing the park. Burgers in hand we set sail for Sable...
While eating our food, we shared the area with a few Giraffe...
While were eating we listened to the thunder and caught sight of a few bolts of lightning while the skies grew greyer by the minute. The next thing we had to close the windows on one side of the car and enjoy the smell of fresh rain. We drove around a bit, but no sooner than it started it was over. All that was left was a few pools of water on the dirt road.
This Impala was enjoying the taste of the fresh rain on his pelt...
The next sighting was a first for me. Apparently it was due to the rain that it came out, but it was already looking for a way back below the surface. I ID'd this one as a Schlegel's Beaked Blind Snake...
Our next close up was a breeding herd crossing the road, they were real calm and J-Lee even stayed calm. Mom however, kept the LO out of harms way...
By now J-Lee had started mentioning going home, but I had other plans. She was a bit upset when I told her that I want to go to one more spot before we go home. As grumpy as she was about my plan, it all changed in an instant when we came across this family.
First up mommy...
Then daddy...
And then, the whole family...
Now it was time to head home, just one more Ellie on the way...

Big horns! wonder if it's a Northern Rhino thing?
"Mommy" seems to have a bit of a side-wound?

Hey, Sprocks! Sent the pic on to a PH and he says that could be a gunshot wound in "mommy"?
