An Alien birthday weekend at Sirheni

Post by Alf »

Most people know by now that I'm getting older in less than two weeks.

This trip started way back in January when Mrs. Alf asked me if i want a party for my 40th birthday. My answer obviously was NO

I would rather take that money we would've paid for the party and go to Kruger O/\ O\/

Because it's a big birthday and it's special to me I decided to invite my mom, father in law, my sister and my two brothers. The last time we went to Kruger as a family was way back in 1990 or somewhere there. It was very long ago

Then the planning started. Which camp and what accommodation to book. Believe me or not but in January most of the guests houses were already booked.

But in the end it was actually easy to decide and i just wanted to go back home O\/

By saying home i mean Sirheni. Sirheni has a special charm that I can't find in any other camp. I've phoned everyone before making the booking to check if they were happy to travel that far and i got the \O

At first it felt like months and months but that time flew past very quickly. We are busy with all the grocery shopping and packing and next week Friday we will begin our journey to the north.

I will be offline over that weekend because there's no cellphone reception at Sirheni O\/

But i will report on sightings as we go

Next trip to the bush??

Let me think......................

As long as we are sure that you and your family are all right and that you are all happy and enjoying the trip....and that you write a detailed TT when you are back, you may stay offline for the whole trip ;-)

Well done, Alpheus! ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Very clever indeed, I must say!

Ja, guesthouses are tricky to book long before as many of them are still donor accommodation? -O-

A totally perfect 40th birthday! Enjoy it big time and hope the animals are nice to you and show themselves.
They are actually obliged

We are all very excited O/\

Only a few more days to go before we leave O\/

Busy going through the "to do" list for the week.

Still need to finish the two crates. But we are once again without water and can't do the laundry @#$
