Re: Guided game drives - KNP
I do not think the prices are all that unreasonable considering what is included. I am a lot more concerned about my perceived lack of transparency from Sanparks - possibly these opportunities have been advertised like those linked by Roger, but I certainly have never seen or become aware of these ...

Re: Guided game drives - KNP
Thanks for all the feedback - seems I have lost touch with what Sanparks allows and does not. Did a bit more research after the disappointing rugby and found an operator offering such a package from Crocodile Bridge Gate picking up guests from Marloth Park- see link below: https://www.royalsafaris ...

Guided game drives - KNP
Hi All – I have been absent from the forum for some time and it seems like I have a lot of reading to catch up on. 0/* I also have a question for the members of this forum. I recently came across a FB page of a fellow SA photographer who also provides guiding services in the KNP. It appears that he i ...

-O- Me no uso smartphono.. --00-- Just think what you missing - you need to rely on your own brain to be smart 0/* :-) =O: As a reference guide for birds, reptiles, mammals and invertebrates it seems great. The maps and routes also seem to be up to date. I do not think it will replace reference ...

Kruger Explorer - App for Android or Apple
I have not seen this posted anywhere on the forum but above app which was released a few days ago appears to be a great resource for the Kruger visitor. I have been following the postings on their facebook page for a while and my initial impressions of this app are very positive (I have not really ...

Self-styled "lion whisperer" Kevin Richardson has explained the circumstances leading up to a lioness attack on a 22-year-old woman visiting his wildlife sanctuary near Pretoria. The as yet unidentified woman was mauled to death on Tuesday morning. The reserve said in a statement: "We are deeply ...

Re: "Commercial Tents at Pretoriuskop "
You are right - which is why the outcry. 0/* The issue to me is that the current rules appear to allow this and will need to be revised to protect the KNP camping experience as we know it. Any long term occupation has the potential to impact on other campers - if there is only 1 great site and I hog ...

Re: "Commercial Tents at Pretoriuskop "
instance my desire to spend 6 months full time camping in the park? If they try to prohibit reselling of accommodation they will be closing down the safari industry. You only have one tent, Mike and do not occupy the whole front. Agreed - but if 10 of me wished to do this we could potentially ...

Re: "Commercial Tents at Pretoriuskop "
Exactly like public, mike! Also, even if full money is paid and nobody pitches on the day it opens up to public. If my understanding is correct this only happens if nobody arrives by gate closing on the day of occupation (not 30 days before). In most cases that will mean the chalet will stand empty ...
