Re: Six days in heaven

Ooh page turned O/\ We headed out the gates, past a small group of impala hanging around nearby and soon arrived at Sunset dam. This black winged stilt (I think?) was wading the shallows, searching for dinner. http://i.imgur.com/vXegbUK.jpg And this hippo was enjoying a late lunch of pondweed, he ...

Re: Six days in heaven

Lots of mozzies in Swazi? Malaria quite low with the drought, but you must check, Sammy, just in case, even many weeks after a trip! :-0 Loads of mozzies, either Swazi or our last night in St Lucia. I got chomped round my feet and ankles and The Husband had a few bites as well, Monster didn't have ...

Re: Six days in heaven

Once in camp we checked in, had a look at the sightings boards and found our hut, number 54, one of the basic huts with 5 beds. There were some building works going on along the road from our parking spot as far as the swimming pool, but there was very little noise and we weren’t disrupted at all, ...

Re: Six days in heaven

Thanks for reading guys 0/* I love impala, they are so photogenic (and you never have to wait in a traffic jam to watch them =O: ) Not a single raffe on the S28 that morning...... -O- It was certainly a shock getting back to the UK, from mid 30's to just above freezing is too much of a change for me ...

Re: Six days in heaven

It’s been 4 long (cold!) years since we were last in SA, and this time we were touching on some parts of the country we have never been to before. We’d planned a road trip starting in Jo’burg and ending in the Kruger, taking in KZN, the battlefields, St Lucia, Swaziland and ending with six glorious d ...

Re: Six days in heaven

Thanks for your comments, the sunrise was our last morning in Africa, a stunning sunrise and the start to a wonderful morning. But I'm getting ahead of myself, I'd better start at the beginning..... This trip has been well over a year in the planning, I’ve read trip report after trip report, joined f ...

Re: Six days in heaven

They (whoever ‘they’ might be) say that once you have heard the cry of the fish eagle you will forever be destined to return to the African bush. Well this beauty certainly graced us with his cry, in fact Africa (and the Kruger Gods) well and truly spoilt us for six heavenly days! http://i.imgur.com/ ...
