Trans Kalahari Highway - travel to Namibia?

Hi guys - some advice from those who've travelled this road through Botswana to Namibia before... We are planning a family trip to Etosha returning through our beloved Kgalagadi. Now obviously we want to get to Etosha in as short a time as possible. We'll be leaving from Secunda on a Friday at noon ...

Re: Mana Pools National Park

Mana Pools is single-handed the most amazing spot I have ever visited in Africa. Ethereal, ancient, wild, unspoilt, uncommercialised, magical. I went in June 2012 and will be taking photographers there on photographic safaris from 2013 onwards. You are allowed to walk around at your own risk, no ...

Re: Spur etc for ''poor'' Kruger

It's sad to think that millions of tax money spent on home improvements to a large estate on the Eastern Cape rural flats could have been used to inject some cash into the National Parks and possibly prevented the rise of the Big Yellow M in our beloved Kruger, and the sight of a life-jacket touting ...

Nikon D800 for wildlife

Okay, so I recently visited the Kgalagadi with a new addition to my bag - the Nikon D800. My initial thoughts in acquiring this camera were confirmed on this trip. 1. It will be my go-to landscape camera - the resolution is ridiculous and the dynamic range is amazing. 2. It will do nicely as a 2nd ...

Re: Some of Your Own Favourites

Great shots everyone!! X#X Here are 3 of my recent favourites. 1. "Cheetah in Gold" - Kgalagadi, November 2011 - just love the light in this! http://www.outdoorphoto.co.za/gallery/data/551/cheetah_male_5_KTP_2011.jpg 2. "A Fine Balance" - Mana Pools, June 2012 - for obvious reasons! http://www ...

Re: Head Shots

Head Portraits are always classic. Some nice ones posted already...here are some of the recent ones I processed. I don't say "recent ones I took" because invariably I am always at least a year behind on processing... -O IO Lioness - Dalkeith, KTP (ISO-3200) http://www.outdoorphoto.co.za/gallery/data ...

Re: Historic TEBA Pafuri Camp taken over by Sanparks

Off-topic, but just a question to a noob...

Why are there so many posts on the forum which are just containing massive numbers of quotes by others, without anything posted in the post by the poster?
Where do these quotes come from? Old threads?

Thanks -O- -O-
