Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
The other company that tests camera sensors and lenses is https://www.dxomark.com/ but I think they only test sensors at 100 ISO which gives a skewed rating.

Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
FYI, http://www.senscore.org/ scores the sensor on the Nikon D5300 higher than the Canon 5D II.

Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
Shutter count is the number of pictures taken with the camera since new. Starts at zero. You need software that reads the EXIF data from an image to see the shutter count - on Nikon. 50,000 is not a huge amount but could be considered well used. Nikon camera shutters are guaranteed for 150,000 or 20...

Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
I have used Nikon since I went digital in 2009. I started with a D5000, got a D5100 about 2 years later when it was released. Both are good cameras and the D5300 is a step up from those. It has the same sensor and focusing system as the D7200 which is an excellent crop-frame camera. The kit lenses a...

Re: Marievale Bird Sanctuary *
I usually leave Marievale and head home in the late morning but this time I was persuaded, by another photographer, to stay for the afternoon. It was a bit blustery but the light was sublime and the wind was blowing in from the west which meant the birds that were well illuminated were also flying a...
