Just after the S79 causeway was another lion pride, all sleeping

And then closer to Nkuhlu our first leopard sleeping on the skinniest branch

The vultures were already there and pressuring the lions to move on.

After a few attempts to chase the vultures, the lioness eventually moved off down to the river and left the remains to the vultures.

We had not made it as far as Skukuza yesterday, and the H4-1 had been good yesterday – so we took the H4-1 again up to Skukuza.


Just after Lower Sabie we found a small pride on a kill.

On the way back to the gate we saw other hyena heading back to the den IMG_5059.JPG At one of the small dips in the road we spotted a civet – unfortunately while we were point oin one direction Cailey was taking pictures of something else – still not figured out what she took a picture of 0- IMG_506...

One of the littlest pups was very curious and came right up to the car to check us out.

And gave us a big cheesy smile

For the afternoon drive we took the S25, it wasn’t long before we came across a sleeping hippo

And further down the S25, a hyena family with cubs.

As we had already had a long day we agreed to stay with the pups and enjoy the last rays of sun.

He headed in the direction of the lioness, but she immediately moved off – looked like she had seen enough of his advances.

So he settled down to sleep and we moved on back to Crocodile bride

He was a big guy and full of recent small cuts – this looked like a mating pair and from what he looked like - lion mating must be a dangerous event
