Re: Talamati Hide

Sorry to hear about that, jb72 0*\ Can you fill me in about the set up of the hide, please? Never been to Talamati and I wonder if it's a hide within the camp that you can walk to any time of the day and watch whatever is around in the river(bed)? The hide is inside the camp, with a view over the w...

Re: Kruger Dam Levels and Water - Dry Season 2015

I was in the park this weekend. Nyamwundwa is the lowest I've seen in years. Kumana & Jones Dams also very low. Lots of waterholes bone dry. Not sure if this is part of the new waterhole policy ? If that is the case, why don't they just close the waterholes properly, and take down the windmills ...

Talamati Hide

Spent a few hours in the hide on Saturday night. Had ele's, rhino, hyena, wildebeest, civet and jackal come for a drink. Was very cool until some drunk tourists decided to have their nightcaps in the hide. @#$ They scared all living creatures away (me included) Next morning while waiting for ...

Re: Turned 40, and dragged my family to Kgalagadi

Hey guys, Howzit, jb! X#X You back in Sabie? Nope - unfortunately not. I'm part of the rat race now. Still had a project in White River last year, so spent a lot of time in the Lowveld, but now I don't have anymore excuses. I try and keep in touch with the General, but likes to think he is v...

Re: Skukuza Hotel Progress

Thanks, jb! Me must have a little meet again! ^0^ Any news on the EIA process? :-? Hi lads 0/* , Will be good to meet up again alright ! Because the hotel is being built inside the existing camp, and next to the conference centre, I would suspect that there is no need for an EIA. They may...

Re: Skukuza Hotel Progress

For anyone who is interested: I was at the tender briefing for the appointment of the professional team for the new hotel in Skukuza on Tuesday. It is not being called a hotel anymore, but rather a conference lodge. They would not give too much detail regarding the size etc, but did mention that the...
