Where's Scar?

Post by Twigga »

I first saw this beautiful male December 2010 on the S28

His coalition killed a giraffe a few meters into a no entry road visible from the S28. We learned from a fellow tourist at the sighting that they were on a night drive the night before and the male was known as “Scar” by the locals (as you can clearly see on his buttocks) I first thought it was a mud stain
You can imagine my surprise when I realised that we saw Scar in December 2012 again, on a night drive about 10 km from Crocodile bridge on the tar road

Looks like a branding from a scientific project, Twigga?

The brandings are often done in inoccuous shapes so as not to spoil the aesthetic appearance of the animals, versus printed numbers etc.

=O: If this is the case then I suspect we have a few "Scars" roaming around the area, and this might not even be the same lion? -O-

What do you think RP?

But nevertheless, will be interesting to see if other mites also saw lions with this markings?
