10 mins after Sunrise in Golden hour using the sun as illumination ..1km north of Rooiputs making use of dappled light waiting for the 2 lionesses to reach this spot took 5 mins of walking towards me from the Drinking trough but I was ready and set up >>they did exactly what I was hoping they would do and the front one eventually stood perfectly for a couple of seconds in the bit of sunlight out of dark shadow (Big Click for this one) Photographically this image earned a Certificate of Merit at PE Photographic Club Mid Year judging (Gold plus ) and 2 x COM's at 2 other national Salons as well ...Judges like nature as it is and look for ..Technique (Settings (EXIF data) resulting in minimal post processing, and use of what is presented to you and Click with ethics the main criteria) and no man made structures like Windmills , Tar Roads and cars as a background allowed etc

I hadnt seen this old guy (HUGE Lion) for a few years and heard he had been escaping from the Park a few times so didnt fancy his chances of survival It was therefore great to see him on our last stay at Rooiputs: Taken midway between camp and Kij Kij >>Very dark overcast morning ..Brightened up in camera by over exposing a full 1 Stop ..Please Click
