Didn’t SANParks just increase the day visitor quota at all gates, thereby increasing traffic volumes and the park and ride facility was added for those who didn’t meet the day visitor quota.
This a very contradictory decision :-? But then again it was taken before talking about the Malelane Hotel O** :O^ 0*\

I have heard that the scoping report has been approved by the DEA. Check out this link http://sanparks.org.za/assets/docs/grou ... gement.pdf

I see no mention of approval, maybe my info is incorrect?? -O-

Dear Stakeholder

APPROVAL OF SCOPING REPORT FOR THE PROPOSED SAFARI RESORT IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

DEA REFERENCE: 12/12/20/610/1/69

We would like to inform you that the Scoping Report for the proposed Hotel/Safari Resort in the Kruger National Park has been approved by the DEA. (Please see the attached document).

The Department of Environmental Affairs has confirmed that the EIA Phase of the project may now be initiated. We will inform all stakeholders of the progress made.

In addition to this, we attach the approval of the Peripheral Development Zone (PDZ) by the Minister of Environmental Affairs. As per the Scoping Report, we committed to informing all I&AP’s once this matter had been finalised.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require additional information or clarity.

Kind regards,

Dereck Milburn,

On behalf of V&L Landscape Architects.

There are three letters attached to the letter from Derek Milburn, but I cannot post them as they are in PDF format:

Approval Letter for Scoping Phase.pdf (656.4 KB)

Minister's Approval of PDZ.pdf (54 KB)

SANParks Submission in terms of PDZ.pdf (1.4 MB)

Maybe Toko can post them ;-)

Although it seems that I am not receiving all the mail I should,
have been informed by Dereck Millburn that the scoping report
submitted has been approved by the DEA.

The scoping report was completed and submitted last year already.

Official confirmation of approval of SP's PDZ implementation was integral to that, in that it will play a part in the EIA which can now commence regarding the Malelane Hotel!

This EIA is the big one, which was rejected last time round by the same minister...
