Re: BEST ROUTE - PAFURI/PUNDA MARIA GATE
HI, I see this topic was covered awhile ago but if anyone has any updates it would be much appreciated... Am going soon this direction and am worried with the road conditions. It looks like going from JHB to Pafuri a better option. Booked in at Shingwedzi. Time frame to go to Pafuri might be quicker than driving through settlement areas and also prettier from what I have read? Entrance to Pafuri gate is ok now with regards the bridge problem? Any advise appreciated!! Thanks

Hello and welcome, Starlight!
Don't know of any changes, will find out, but difficult on a holiday...
The Musina-Pafuri road is very scenic, especially in autumn. One can turn off to Tshipise a bit before Musina, I think, and go from there.

Re: BEST ROUTE - PAFURI/PUNDA MARIA GATE
The way suggested by RP is very nice . Usually traffic Polokwane to Makopane is fairly busy , but then quite light to Pafuri gate . Note roadworks on Polokwane by-pass to the north , causing hold-up , and further roadworks , detours etc at Bandelierkop
You may want to drive up to Crook's corner , visit Pafuri picnic site and so on , but keep in mind the distance from Pafuri gate to Shing is at least 110 kilometres

Enough is enough

I may want to add,....
Don't even bother with PM gate and the Thoyohando experience,.
Drop in at the top, filter out at the bottom!!, soul rejuvenated
and closer to home, leaving you with precious experience, to be
nurtured, as soon as possible, where it would seem fitting!!
Your home!!
