Both of them ? I would have thought they belong to 2 different species, they are so different...

And these ones, are they also Rock Agamas ?

I dare say that they are rock agamas, but do not count on my ID

I think they re all the same, Dingwe, assuming same size? They change colour dramatically!

I found that in one of my books, the pics are very bad, but there is names to give a track

The first one (taken at Fish River Canyon) was a bit longer, maybe a bit more than 20 cm.

I have the "Guide to the reptiles of Southern Africa" by G. Alexander and J. Marais, which is a good book, but it does not have an entry for each single species with keys for identification and a distribution map which would help much. I've never found the Field Guide by Bill Branch. Is it out of stock ?

I also use the http://www.biodiversityexplorer.org/rep ... /agama.htm site, with many pictures. The problem with theses agamas is that there is a great diversity of aspects for a same species and sometimes different species looks almost the same. Very confusing...

I agree with you - the book is not really helpful. I tried and tried to ID them, but wasn't sure of anything, so didn't respond. Insects are hard enough, but these ever changing color denizens are for the experts. Good luck, and let us know if you find a valuable resource please.
