Flavour of the Month Dec 2015 - S26 Bume Road/S102 Loop & Mpondo Dam

We will be starting this trip from the H5 side, which is north of the S26, but feeds onto the S102...
The S102, is dubbed (by me), the spoor road... Every time we get onto this stretch of road, not 10meters in, we start picking up spoor. Most times, it is Lion and leopard, but last time we were on that stretch (before the Mpondo dam), we were hot on the heels of Wilddoggies... SO really wanted me to be right about this (as you know, Men are NEVER right), and for once i was... We caught up with a pack of 11 at the Mpondo dam.... Awesome stretch of road....

Saw this floating in the dam in 2011...we had a whole thread on it, and even experts couldn't ID!

About the size of a large dog/zebra foal...

I have only driven this road once and it was back in 2009. Didn't see much on it

One thing about that S114-S26 intersection is that it is not really a 4 way stop, as it looks on the map....

Even at my advanced age I often get lost there, hence pitching up at Mpondo Dam with the above pics, to great ridicule from my younger passengers... $0*\$

for me Bume road is a fertile one... saw Lycaons there

alone... at one meter from the car

and Lions, while other people saw Cheetahs
